Medicare Insurance, also known as Original Medicare is comprised of Part A and Part B.
This coverage is provided directly through the federal government.
Medicare Part A
provides hospital insurance.
Medicare Part B
provides medical insurance.
Is Medicare free?
For most seniors, Part A is free,
but there is a premium for Part B.
Are there deductibles or co-pays with Medicare?
Yes, there are deductibles and coinsurance charges for services covered under both Part A and Part B.
Medicare Advantage plans, also known as Medicare Part C, provide an alternative to Original Medicare (Part A and Part B).
Medicare Advantage Plans
are offered by Medicare-approved health insurance companies.
Medicare Advantage Plans
are legally required to offer at least the same benefits as Original Medicare but can include additional coverage, such as:
Vision Benefits
Dental Benefits,
Prescription Drugs, and
Health, Wellness and Gym programs.
Medicare Supplement Plans Reduce
Out-of-Pocket Expenses
Medicare Supplement Plans, also known as Medigap Insurance, help cover gaps in coverage from Medicare Part A and Part B.
Medicare Parts A and B (Original Medicare) require you to pay deductibles, coinsurance, and co-payments. Medigap provides coverage for these out-of-pocket expenses.
How much does Medigap cost?
The monthly premium varies depending on the coverage you select, but generally, the premium cost is offset by lower annual
out-of-pocket costs.
